Located in the heart of posh Park Lane, London, the Grill at the Dorchester is a dining experience not to be missed, starting from the moment you walk into the elegant torch-induced ambience. Service was detailed and very attentive, serving authentic UK concotions that is on the higher end of the scale for prices, but it's well worth it if you're willing to splurge, as the portions are more than decent and the taste is out of this world.|
Classic appetizers that you can't go wrong with on the menu include Smoked Scottish Salmon (£18), Potted Motecambe Bay shrimps (£12.50), and the Roasted Bone Marrow (£11). If you're a fish aficionado, the absolute must get for the main course is the Grilled Dover Sole, servied with large caper berries (£30). Perfectly tender and bursting full of flavour, this fish is heaven on earth.
Desserts are not too shabby either. For £9.50, you can choose any combination of desserts from the dessert cart, anywhere from the smooth Creme Brulee, to mouth-watering Apple Crumb Cake, rich Chocolate Mousse Cake, and strawberries and raspberries with vanilla to go on the side if you so desire. If you've got room for dessert, by all means, go for it, you won't be disappointed.
Conclusion: If you're looking for a special dinner in London, and you're willing to splurge, this is it. The restaurant reminds me of 5 diamond-rated Truffles at the Four Seasons in Toronto, but London's Dorchester blows Truffles out of the water.
